What We Do

Lone Pine Cattle Co. is a small, third generation family ranch providing grass-fed, grass-finished Black Angus beef, sold directly in northern Colorado and southern Wyoming. We promote outstanding herd genetics and disposition, ensuring that each source verified animal receives low-stress handling during a minimum of two years on the open range: a care and quality of life that gives our customers the most delicious, nutritious beef possible.

About

The Maxwell family has been farming and ranching in Northern Colorado since 1928, when Paul Maxwell started an orchard, dairy, and dryland farm in Fort Collins (currently the location of the Maxwell Nature Area). In 1964, Stuart Maxwell (Paul’s son) sold the farm to buy land in Red Feather Lakes, where he started a cattle ranch with his two sons, Dan and Michael. Today their children, Carl (Mike’s son) and Haley (Dan’s daughter), are continuing this heritage, returning to the ranch to start a customer direct, grass-fed, grass/grain-finished beef business.

Pricing

We sell our grass-fed beef in quarters, halves, and wholes. Prices are based on hanging weight, plus processing fees. A non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your order.

We accept all major credit cards, cashier’s check, and cash. Ask about our 5% discount for Veterans, Active Military personnel and First Responders. Online retail store coming soon
